  • PD - Construction Manager III

    Position Title: Construction Manager III
    Supervisor: Director of Project Development

    Position Description
    Maas Energy Works (MEW) is seeking a Construction Manager to provide office-based construction management support to industrial-agricultural construction projects located in various states. Project scopes to oversee include pipelines, earthwork, pond installation, structures, concrete, mechanical, and electrical. The Construction Manager will work closely with both the office and field staff to ensure high quality outcomes for projects and good relationships with partners.
    We are looking for an applicant that can learn extensive industry specific jargon and grasp a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to develop a dairy digester. This job requires an applicant that excels in written and spoken communication to coordinate various contractors on multiple sites. There is no manual for this job, we are writing it every day.
    Responsibilities
    • Oversee project construction sites, ensuring that construction is designed, prepared and built to satisfaction.
    • Troubleshoot issues, delays, and/or conflicts with contractors and engineers.
    • Coordinate and schedule construction tasks.
    • Effectively communicate via email, text, and phone with the supervisor, project team members, contractors, engineers, customers, and business partners.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with various contractors and dairy owners that we work with.
    • Assist the project team (project managers and engineers) with design and constructability reviews to identify issues early and improve build quality.
    • Support the project team in developing and reviewing cost estimates to inform budgeting and procurement decisions.
    • Identify, vet, and onboard new contractors and subcontractors, including reference checks, capability assessments, and qualification reviews.
    • Review scopes of work, technical specifications, and bid packages for completeness, accuracy, and constructability prior to issuance.

    Position Description

    The Department of Culture & Talent is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and data-driven HR Administrator with strong administrative, analytical, interpersonal, and financial skills. In addition to managing payroll processing, tax compliance, and employee benefits administration, this role will contribute to policy development, foster employee engagement initiatives, and ensure clear, professional communication across the organization.

    This position also leverages HR data to inform decisions, generate insights on workforce trends, and enhance HR processes and outcomes. The HR Administrator serves as the primary contact for payroll-related questions, leave management, and retirement plan processing, while supporting compliance and driving a positive workplace culture.

    Responsibilities

    • Payroll Processing: Administer semi-monthly payroll, review timesheets, process pay adjustments, garnishments, and maintain employee payroll benefit elections.

    • Tax Compliance: Manage quarterly and annual employer tax filings (IRS, state, and local), create new tax accounts as needed, reconcile withholdings, prepare W-2s, and 1099s as needed.

    • Audits & Reporting: Provide payroll documentation for internal and external audits, prevailing wage reporting; compile and analyze HR-related data from systems such as Dayforce or Power BI to support reporting and compliance.

    • Retirement Plans: Process contributions, enrollments, distributions, rollovers, and perform compliance testing (402(g) and Form 5500).

    • Leave, Disability and State Program Management: Coordinate paid leave, disability, and unemployment claims, ensure compliance with overlapping leave policies, and support employees with forms and return-to-work requirements.

    • Benefits Administration: Oversee benefit programs including tuition reimbursement, travel fund programs, charitable giving, and other company-supported programs; conduct benefit audits and reconciliations. Health benefit administration may also be included in this position at a later date.

    • Employee Support: Respond to payroll-related inquiries and provide resources and communication regarding pay, benefits, and tax matters.
    • Onboarding & Offboarding: Process payroll-related documentation for new hires and separating employees, including final paychecks, direct deposits, and termination recordkeeping.

    The Safety Technician will support the Safety Team in overseeing and managing safety protocols and procedures at our dairy digester, biogas, and biogas conditioning plants.     Position Description
    Maas Energy Works (MEW) is seeking a new Remote Operations Technician to support and maintain the ongoing operations of projects throughout the western United States. These facilities are located on host dairy farms, where an anaerobic digester produces renewable biomethane gas which is processed on site and then either used to power lean burn piston electric power generators or is delivered into a private natural gas pipeline network operated by the company. Our operations team is split into office staff (this position) and field staff that work on the job sites.
    Office staff’s close coordination with company field staff ensures high quality outcomes for operations and good relationships with partners, and overall accountability. The role of the office staff is to remotely monitor and troubleshoot electrical generation equipment, biogas cleanup facilities, and biogas pipelines, including order parts and materials. A high degree of organization and systems awareness will be required for this position. Many skills can be learned on the job from existing experts, and the job has an opportunity for advancement.
    Responsibilities
    • Remotely monitor and troubleshoot issues at assigned digester facilities and cleanup plants
    • Communicate regularly with Field Ops Manager and on-site operators to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment
    • Travel to digester sites and cleanup facilities once per month
    • Be an avid learner, and support ROM in the monthly operations reports
    • Requires extensive communication via email, text, phone

    • Must be proficient in English.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Mechanical equipment knowledge

    Maas Energy Works is seeking a new Operations Field Technician to support and maintain the ongoing operations of dairy digester projects in the areas of Galt, Tulare, Merced, Fresno County, or Buckeye Arizona. Maas Energy is looking for an applicant that is highly self-motivated, with an ability to quickly learn extensive industry specific skills. Applicants must understand mechanical equipment and effectively work independently or with remote support to troubleshoot issues within industrial systems on multiple sites as they arise.
    Our operations team is split into office staff and field staff (this position) that work on the job sites. Field staff’s close coordination with company office staff ensures high quality outcomes for operations and good relationships with partners. and accountability. The role of the field staff is to conduct routine maintenance of systems, repairing or replacing equipment as necessary, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Equipment to be serviced includes large internal combustion engines, biogas pipelines, 3-phase motors, electric manure pumps, electrical wiring, PLCs, and industrial flares.
    Responsibilities
    • Travel to various facilities for routine and preventative maintenance ensuring that all equipment and systems are operating as designed while maximizing facility up-time
    • Troubleshoot issues on-site or remotely as they arise
    • Maintain spare parts inventory as needed

    • General mechanical and electrical experience preferred but not required (2+ years)

    Responsibilities:
    Perform routine maintenance on biogas combustion engines (gensets) and associated power generation equipment, including regular oil changes, air filter replacements, ignition system checks, engine coolant system maintenance, and servicing of slurry heaters and emissions control systems (SCR).
    Troubleshoot and repair issues with genset engines and generator units, diagnosing mechanical or electrical problems. Conduct engine overhauls and major repairs as needed (e.g., replacing or rebuilding components such as cylinder heads, valve trains, pistons, connecting rods, crankshafts, turbochargers) and ensure generator windings and electrical systems are properly maintained. Also assist in troubleshooting other facility equipment (such as PLCs, compressors, and pumps) on-site or via remote support tools as issues arise.

    Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for all critical equipment, especially gensets. Utilize the company’s maintenance tracking software (CMMS) to schedule and document maintenance activities, track performance, and ensure timely execution of preventive maintenance tasks.
    Coordinate repair work with team members and external contractors as necessary, and ensure all maintenance checklists and standard operating procedures are followed and completed on schedule.

    Oversee on-site operations, ensuring that all equipment and systems (including the biogas digesters, gas upgrading systems, and generator engines) are operating as designed while maximizing facility up-time.

    Maintain spare parts inventory to ensure critical replacement components are readily available.

    Position Description
    The Site Manager will focus initially on the construction management of the site, and then the operation manager once construction is completed. Construction management of the facilities will include supervising earthwork, the installation of pipeline, structures, concrete, mechanical and electrical equipment, etc. Upon construction completion the Site Manager will focus on the operations of the site, overseeing the operation of all equipment related to biogas handling, upgrading, clean up, combustion and CNG/hauling.
    The Site Manager will be expected to perform routine maintenance, repair equipment as necessary, and troubleshoot issues as they arise, while coordinating with co-workers and business partners as needed. Equipment to be operated and serviced will most commonly include PLCs, data loggers, biogas blowers, 3-phase motors, and electrical wiring. Applicants should have some level of experience with construction management, mechanical, and electrical equipment and enjoy troubleshooting issues within industrial facilities.
    Responsibilities
    • Oversee project construction sites, ensuring that construction is designed, prepared and executed according to plan
    • Perform duties similar to a superintendent
    • Perform daily walk-throughs, maintain daily logs, and prepare a weekly summary

    • Troubleshoot issues on-site or remotely as they arise
    • Coordinate repair work and perform maintenance checklists
    • Effectively communicate via email, text, and phone with supervisors, team members, contractors, clients, and business partners
    Qualifications & Skills
    • Two or more years of experience in Construction and Construction Management preferred.
    • The ability to read and understand Construction Plans and P&IDs is a plus.
    • Analytical thinker and self-starter.
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems, and to plan & execute autonomously.
    • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Proficient in written & spoken English required.
    • Basic computing and Microsoft office skills required.
    • Forklift/tele-handler/backhoe skills a plus
    • General mechanical and electrical experience (2+ years preferred)
    • Operations or Construction Management experience preferred.
    • Ability to learn new equipment software and electronic interfaces
    • Analytical thinker, ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and a motor vehicle (DMV) background check to qualify for use of a company vehicle.

    Position Description
    The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations related to our waste-to-energy projects. This includes ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with industry-specific regulations, and providing strategic insights to support the growth and sustainability of our company initiatives. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including project development, operations, and environmental commodities, to ensure the financial success of our projects.
    Responsibilities
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including project-specific income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP and industry standards for renewable energy.
    • Project Accounting: Manage project accounting for company initiatives, including tracking project costs, revenues, and profitability, and ensuring accurate project financial reporting.
    • Period-End Close: Lead the quarter-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
    • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, related to projects, grants, and subsidies.
    • Grants and Incentives Compliance: Manage accounting for government grants, environmental commodities, and other incentives specific to the renewable energy industry.
    • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and GAAP.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial data and analysis related to projects, including capital expenditures and operational costs.
    • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including those specific to renewable energy projects.
    • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations related to renewable energy projects.
    • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff, with a focus on developing expertise in renewable energy accounting practices.
    Qualifications & Skills
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role; experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly biogas or related fields, is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and accounting for renewable energy projects.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Net Suite) and Microsoft Excel; experience with project management software is a plus.
    • Familiarity with industry-specific financial regulations and incentives, such as renewable energy credits and carbon offsets.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
